What’s the worst that could happen?
Kaitlyn Parker has no problem being the invisible girl, which is why she finds herself hiding in various cabinets and closets all over her college campus. Despite her best efforts, she can’t escape the notice of Martin Sandeke—bad boy, jerkface bully, and the universe’s hottest, wealthiest, and most unobtainable bachelor—who also happens to be Kaitlyn’s chemistry lab partner.
Kaitlyn might be the only girl who isn’t interested in exploiting his stunning rower’s build, chiseled features, and family's billionaire fortune. Kaitlyn wants Martin for his brain, specifically to tabulate findings of trace elements in surface water.
When Kaitlyn saves Martin from a nefarious plot, Martin uses the opportunity to push Kaitlyn out of her comfort zone: spring break, one week, house parties, bathing suits, and suntan lotion. Can she overcome her aversion to being noticed? Will he be able grow beyond his self-centered nature? Or, despite their obvious chemistry, will Martin be the one to drive Kaitlyn into the science cabinet of obscurity for good?

Kristine's Review:
Reviewed: March 2015.I thought I couldn't possibly feel anything more for Martin and Kaitlyn... How very wrong I was. I'm loving these two, and Reid pulls away the layers and we discover so much more about this pair, I find myself more and more invested, more intrigued, more desperate to know everything about them.
Heat picks up right where Attraction left off, with Kaitlyn navigating this house party desperate to hide away, both her heart and herself. After witnessing something that confirms for her that she gave her trust too willingly, she's left feeling alone and full of regrets. When Martin eventually finds her and they have a chance to discuss what happened we as the reader finally believe these two might have a chance at discovering what this is between them. Do I sound deliberately vague? That's because I am, this is story you need to experience for yourself, you need to feel every little nuance of the story as Reid pulls you in and demands your attention.
What I'm loving so much about this story is the growth we see in Kaitlyn, this quiet, reserved girl is blossoming before our eyes, she's finding the strength to say what she thinks, be damned the consequences. Martin has the kind of volatile strength to over run Kaitlyn's quieter sensibilities, but as he learns to pull back and think more about how he effects those around him, Kaitlyn is learning to voice her thoughts and be stronger in the knowledge that her opinions matter. She's the kind of female character I adore as she opens herself up to the experience of discovering who she is and what she wants to be.
Penny Reid once again you hold me captive with your words, you have drawn me in and I don't even want to let go, waiting almost desperately to see where you take this story next.
